The Carolina Haitian Women’s Society is a multi-generational organization dedicated exclusively for the growth, connection, and celebration of Haitian women in the Carolinas by providing a supportive platform for fostering personal growth and success, building meaningful connections within the community, and showcasing the richness of Haitian culture through events and initiatives.
We envision our organization as a dynamic platform that champions the voices and stories of Haitian and Haitian-American women, creating a space for connection, personal growth, enrichment, and mutual support. The Carolina Haitian Women's Society is proud to be a hub for women who are making a difference in their communities, professions, and families.
Cultural Competency Workshops
We believe that effective support for Haitian newcomers begins with understanding their unique cultural values, history, and experiences. Our Cultural Competency Workshops are designed to equip service providers with the tools and knowledge needed to engage with the Haitian community in a respectful and informed way. Through these workshops, participants will learn about key aspects of Haitian culture, the challenges migrants face, and practical strategies for building trust and delivering culturally appropriate services. By fostering greater understanding, we aim to bridge the gap between service providers and the Haitian community, ensuring that every interaction is grounded in respect, dignity, and empathy.
Haitian Heritage School
Our Haitian Heritage School, set to launch next fall, will serve as a crucial hub for preserving and passing on the rich cultural legacy of Haiti to younger generations. Our mission is to provide a safe and supportive environment where children and youth can immerse themselves in Haitian history, language, and traditions, fostering a deep sense of pride and connection to their heritage. Through a curriculum that covers everything from Haiti’s revolutionary roots to its vibrant arts, music, and customs, we aim to ensure that Haitian-American children maintain strong ties to their cultural identity.
Your donation to the Carolina Haitian Women’s Society directly impacts the lives of Haitian and Haitian-American women and their families in the Carolinas. By contributing, you help us offer vital programs and community support services.
